1. Definitions

Personal Data Protection Legislation means (i) EU Directive on the processing of personal data (Directive 95/46/EC) of 25 October 1995 or any implementing or related national legislation, (ii) EU Directive on Privacy and Electronic Communications (Directive 2002/58/EC) of 12 July 2002 or any implementing or related national legislation, (iii) Regulation (EU) no. 611/2013 of 24 June 2013 on the measures applicable to the notification of personal data breaches under Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on privacy and electronic communications, (iv) Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC as from 25 May 2018, (v) the Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and (vi) any other current or future applicable legislation relating to or having an impact on privacy and the processing of personal data.

2. Identity and contact data of the controller

2.1. The protection of your privacy and personal data is of primary concern for Us. This Privacy Policy explains how We will process your personal data on Our website www.beweee.be and for the purpose of direct marketing communications.

2.2. BeWeee vzw (“We” or “Us”, or “Our”) is a Belgian non-profit association established at Koloniënstraat 56, 1000 BRUSSELS and registered at the Crossroads Bank of Enterprises under number 0716.949.764. Our contact data can be found on Our website www.beweee.be.

2.3. We qualify as a controller, as defined in the Personal Data Protection Legislation, with respect to the processing of your personal data for the purposes as mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

3. Personal data

We will process the following personal data about you: Your contact data (name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, etc.).

4. Purposes of the processing

4.1. We will process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Answering questions that you asked through the online contact form, chat or by e-mail;
  • Sending information about our services.

The purposes for the processing of personal data by means of cookies are described later in this Privacy and Cookie Policy.

4.2. We will inform you in advance if We intend to process your personal data for other purposes than the purposes indicated in this Privacy Policy.

5. Legal basis

We will ask your consent to legitimately process your personal data for the above purposes. You can give your consent by ticking “I AGREE” or by using any other similar solution that may be implemented. You are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time. The withdrawal of your consent shall not affect the lawfulness of the processing of personal data, based on your consent, before the withdrawal.

6. Recipients of personal data

6.1. We shall be entitled to transmit your personal data to associated companies, suppliers and partners, merely for the purposes as mentioned in article 4 of this Privacy Policy, etc.

6.2. We shall be entitled to transmit your personal data to third parties providing services to Us, including but not limited to IT service providers.

6.3. We shall also be entitled to transmit your personal data to third parties if We are required to do so pursuant to statutory provisions or court decisions.

6.4. In case of entire or partial reorganisation within Our organisation we shall also be entitled to transmit your personal data to (non-)associated third parties.

7. Transmission of personal data

We will process your personal data only within the European Economic Area.

8. Period for which we will retain personal data

We will retain your personal data (i) for the entire period you or your company will be using Our services, (ii) for as long as necessary for the above purposes, or (iii) for as long as We are required by law to retain your personal data. In any case We will delete your personal data after a period of two (2) years following expiry of the period that expires last among those mentioned above.

9. Your rights

9.1. In accordance with the provisions under the Personal Data Protection Legislation you shall have the right to (a) request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, (b) request restriction of processing of your personal data or object the processing of your personal data, (c) receive your personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable form and (d) file a complaint with the supervisory authority (in Belgium the “data protection authority”, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).

9.2. You can assert the above rights by sending a request using our contact form or by means of any similar technical solution that may be implemented on the website.

10. Modifications of this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. We will announce every modified version of this Privacy Policy and ask your consent in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of this Privacy Policy, if the purposes of the processing would have been changed.
