The reporting obligation via the BeWeee tool in 2022 (2021 data) applies to producers, collectors, traders or brokers of waste, re-use centres, processors, or notifiers of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). This means that everyone who puts WEEE on the market, and/or collects, trades, brokers, exports, processes or re-uses WEEE is obliged to submit reports on it. Therefore, this obligation also applies to waste streams that are collected and processed outside the Recupel system.
From 3 April 2023, you can register to submit reports on the quantities for 2022. You can submit reports until 30 June 2023. Anyone who does not comply with their reporting obligations may be fined by the authorities.

Submitting reports for your company
Did you receive a letter from us?
Your company is a registered/approved distributor, registered collector, trader or broker of waste, a re-use centre, processor or notifier of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). If you dispose of WEEE or have it disposed of via Recupel, nothing much will change.
If you repair appliances yourself, have them repaired for re-use, dispose of them or process them yourself outside the Recupel or PV-Cycle system, or outside an agreement with a producer with an individual plan, you must submit reports via the Belgian tool developed for this purpose.
Reporting possible as from 3 April 2023.

Submitting reports
What to include in your report
- The quantities that have been put on the market and the number of kilograms of WEEE per category, and broken down into household and professional equipment;
- The destinations of the WEEE that you have not processed yourself;
- The quantities of the equipment collected intended for re-use and the quantities of equipment actually reused (only for the re-use centres);
- The quantities of waste resulting from the processing in kilograms and per category (only for the processors).
Reporting possible as from 3 April 2023.

Recupel contract
Do you have a contract with Recupel or a manufacturer with an individual plan?
- If you have a Recupel contract and already report everything to Recupel, you do not need to take any further action. Recupel will report to us on your behalf.
- If you have a contract with Recupel butdo not report everything to them, you must submit reports on the quantities that have not been reported to us.
- If you do not have a Recupel contract, you must submit reports to us yourself.
Who should submit reports?
Producers
As a producer of EEE with an individual waste management plan or as a management body, you must submit reports via BeWeee on the quantities of EEE that have been put on the Belgian market.

As a WEEE collector, you must submit reports via BeWeee about the quantities of WEEE for which you have arranged transport. You must submit reports on the quantities transported for re-use and the quantities transported for processing.
Exporter of WEEE
As a notifier or collector taking WEEE abroad, you must submit reports via BeWeee on the quantities of WEEE that have left the Belgian market. You must register your company both as a ‘collector’ and as a ‘processor.’ This is because you also have to submit reports on the processing results, based on the processing certificates that you receive from your foreign processors.
Sellers or distributors of WEEE
As a seller or distributor, you must submit reports via BeWeee on the quantities of WEEE that you have taken back from your customers.
Processors of WEEE
As a processor of WEEE, you must submit reports via BeWeee on the quantities of WEEE that you have received and processed.
Re-use centre of EEE and/or WEEE
As a re-use centre of EEE and/or WEEE, you must submit reports via BeWeee on the quantities of EEE and/or WEEE prepared for re-use.
Reporting possible as from 3 April 2023.
