1.<\/h2>\n

A total of 181,452 tonnes<\/strong> of WEEE were reported* throughout 2024. This is a 7% increase<\/strong> compared to 2023 and the highest reported figure since BeWeee was founded in 2017.<\/p>\n

Of the 181,452 tonnes of reported WEEE*, 45,515 tonnes<\/strong> were reported directly through BeWeee. That is 7 times more<\/strong> in 7 years.<\/p>\n

Most of the reported EEE* consists of electro-appliances. But the share of photovoltaic solar panels is increasing every year. For instance, 55,976 tonnes of solar panels were put on the market in 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In Belgium, we have reached the milestone of 61.93%<\/span><\/strong> (excluding PV).<\/p>\n

The total collection rate (OOM\/POM) including solar panels for the year 2024 is 51.31%<\/strong>. <\/span>This figure is slightly higher<\/span><\/strong> than in 2023.<\/p>\n

In the coming years, BeWeee intends to do even better to further increase the reporting rate and to reach a collection rate of 65%.
